Terms & Conditions

1. Deposits

A deposit is required for all cake orders and is non-refundable.  For wedding orders,

a £50 deposit secures your date and a 30% deposit is applicable for all other orders.

Please note orders and dates are not secured until a deposit is taken.


2. Payments

For wedding and large celebration cakes, 50% of the final cost is required 12

weeks before the delivery/collection date with the balance due 2 weeks before.

For all other cakes, the final payment due 1 week before the delivery/collection

date or on the day if paying by cash.

Payment may be made by:-

· Bank Transfer

· Cash or Postal Order

· Cheque - please make payable to: Jackie Kimber

· Paypal (3.75% surcharge)

3. Alteration to Orders

Any alteration to the original order will be confirmed in writing and may be

subject to an additional charge. Late amendments to orders are often possible and

every effort will be made to accommodate changes but this cannot be guaranteed.

4. Cancellation of Orders

In the event of cancellation by the Client, booking deposits paid will be retained and work

already completed with be charged.

In the unlikely event of 'Cake Expectations' being unable to supply your cake due to 
extenuating circumstances, all payments will be refunded in full and no further
compensation will be given.

5.  Non-edible Items
Some cakes will include non-edible items and these will be made clear in writing

when the cake is delivered or collected.

Such items include:-
*  dowels inserted into cakes for support
*  wires, for example in sugar flower arrangements
*  posy pics
*  decorative items with food grade glitter (please note that this glitter is food safe and
non-toxic but not recommended for consumption)

6. Storage of Cakes

Cakes do not require refrigerating and are to be stored in a cool, damp-free

environment out of direct sunlight.  Cake Expectations will not be held responsible
for cakes stored or displayed in poor conditions.  All cakes for keeping should be 
covered well with foodwrap after cutting
to prevent the cake from drying out.
Customers will be advised of the 'best before' eating date on delivery/collection.
